The first of Realme's upcoming pair of budget smartphones has debuted in Thailand. What does the Realme C100 5G offer?
The Realme C100 5G is intended to be an entry-level, budget-friendly 5G smartphone – and as such, it doesn't impress with its specifications, but on the other hand, it lacks nothing. The smartphone has a rather interesting display – on the one hand, the 6.8-inch LCD matrix operates in HD+ resolution only, and on the other, it offers a 144 Hz refresh rate and decent brightness, typically 700 nits, peaking at 900 nits. The smartphone's heart is the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor, supported by LPDDR4X and eMMC 5.1 memory, and powered by a 7000 mAh battery that charges at 45W. The battery offers reverse charging, and the internal memory can be expanded with a microSD card.

The smartphone has a side-mounted fingerprint reader and a minijack, but the Thai version doesn't support NFC. The global version will likely support them. The camera section features a 50-megapixel main camera with an f/1.8 aperture and a 75-degree field of view, and a 5-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a 72-degree field of view. The screen is protected by Panda MN228 glass, and the entire body is MIL-STD 810H certified and IP64-rated. The smartphone measures 166.47 x 78.23 x 8.88 mm and weighs 224 g. There are two colors to choose from – Blooming Purple and Sprouting Green – and two memory kits – 4+128 GB and 6+128 GB. They are priced at 7,000 or 7,500 baht, or $215-230. Everything points to the Realme C100 5G being released in Europe soon - it has already been spotted in France.
